We're celebrating CIT's one year anniversary at #NYTechWeek!

CIT is hosting two events: an AI and Faith panel discussion on Thursday, June 5th and a picnic on Sunday, June 8th.

Hey friends,

It's hard to believe it's been a full year since Christians*inTech started.

Our first gathering was a networking event held in Central Park during the 2024 Tech Week. We were the only Christian-specific event on the roster. I had no idea who would show up.

Since then, our community has grown beyond what I could have imagined.

We've hosted various meetups, connected with other Christian initiatives in the city, and watched genuine friendships and professional collaborations form. What began as a handful of people has become a movement of Christians committed to bringing their whole selves—faith and all—to their work.

It’s time to celebrate! Join us for second annual CIT Picnic and our AI and Faith panel during this year’s #NYTechWeek.

Grace & peace,

Andy Choi + the CIT Crew

P.S. If you know other Christians working in tech who might be interested in our community, forward this newsletter to them.

Artificial Intelligence is fundamentally reshaping our world; it’s beginning to change how we live, work, and connect with one another.

How do we ensure that AI is developed and deployed in ways that serve human flourishing? And for those of us who follow Christ, what unique perspective do we bring to these conversations?

These are the questions we'll be exploring in our Faith in AI panel discussion. We've partnered with Gloo—one of the leading names in faith-tech—to assemble a remarkable panel of Christians who are at the forefront of AI development.

What We'll Explore Together:

  • The ethical frameworks that should guide AI innovation

  • How to preserve human dignity and agency in algorithm-driven systems

  • What "values-aligned AI" actually means in practice

  • The unique contributions that Christian perspectives bring to AI ethics

Grateful Shout‑Outs 🤝

Everything we do is powered by partners and volunteers who pour out their gifts to serve. I want to give shout-outs to some of our partners and volunteers who help bring CIT to life.

The Sugary Community has been a blessing as a partner—the duo DK Kim and Gary Su have helped produce events, lock in venues, and volunteer at events. They run a community of 20,000+ New Yorkers that gather around food, art, and culture, check them out.

Lyonbird — Our first sponsor. They have been such a blessing to have the resources we need to build and serve CIT.  Lyonbird, led by James Taing, is a collective of believers, shaping the future where faith, art, and technology intertwine.

And to every greeter, cooler‑carrier, and spontaneous worship‑leader—thank you for making CIT feel like family.

After a long week of conferences, pitch sessions, and networking events, sometimes what you need most is a chance to relax and connect as human beings.

That's exactly what this picnic is for.

Last year's picnic was the first Christians*inTech meetup and returning to that same spot feels like coming full circle.

What to Expect:

  • Relaxed Atmosphere: No formal agenda, no presentations—just good people and good conversation

  • Beautiful Setting: Central Park in early June is spectacular—Lord willing, it’ll be perfect weather for outdoor gathering.

  • Quality Refreshments: We'll provide snacks and drinks, but feel free to bring your own. (blankets and games are also highly encouraged!)

This picnic isn't about pitching your startup or discussing the latest technical trends. (though if those conversations happen naturally, that's great too!) It's about getting to know each other as whole people.

Looking back and looking forward for what’s in store with Christians*inTech, we’re grateful. Grateful for the incredible community that has emerged from those humble beginnings in Central Park. We’re praying that God will continue to use this community to influence the tech industry for good.

We hope you’ll join us on this journey.
