The Lord is Moving

We’re so grateful to see the response and growth of this newsletter! It’s all thanks to the wonderful members of this community sharing and engaging. That’s what this is all about, getting Christians engaged with their community, especially in professional spaces. What this says:
People want to connect with each other
People want to connect with the Lord
People want to connect with the Lord, together!
It’s loud and clear and we are only just beginning.
All Glory to God. We wouldn’t be doing this if He didn’t call us and we’ve only had the success we’ve had because the Lord is moving through you all.
Let’s continue seeking and moving with the Lord together!
Event Reflection: The Christian Singles Mixer + Concert Was A Packed House!

We’re still smiling from our most recent Christian singles night—what an evening. It was fully subscribed, we ran a waitlist, and the room buzzed with conversations, laughter, and genuine connection.
This is exactly why we say “yes” to singles programming: when we surveyed our community, singles events were among the most requested, and they address a very real challenge in nyc—finding healthy, faith-centered spaces to meet and build relationships.
As always, our aim is to create margin to show up in our Christian identity—in work, life, and yes, in dating—trusting that God is with us in it all.
Gratitude
A huge thank you to NYC Christian Singles for sponsoring and making this night possible. We helped produce and bring the event together, but beyond just this event NYC Christian Singles is the engine actively building a pathway for believers to meet, connect, and be matched thoughtfully.
Highlights from the night
Packed house & strong engagement: full attendance, great energy, and meaningful conversations throughout the mixer and concert.
Balanced, high-quality crowd: thoughtful curation + “bring-a-friend” invites helped balance participation and elevate the experience.
Smart programming: structured matching (via our partners) kept things moving and intentional before we transitioned to the concert—fun + focus in the right proportions.
Community momentum: interest is already building for the next one, and churches/communities took notice.
What we learned (and will build on)
Activities help guys show up: future editions will layer in light, social activities (think pickleball, shuffleboard, game stations) to encourage interaction and give natural conversation breaks.
Pacing matters: we’ll space out matches with short activity breaks so people can breathe, process, and reconnect.
Bigger scale is feasible: with the right venue and partners, we can responsibly grow attendance while keeping the spirit of the night intact.
About NYC Christian Singles (and why we’re excited)
NYC Christian Singles is a volunteer-led effort focused on de-siloing Christian communities across the city—helping believers meet beyond a single church or circle. They do this through events and a live survey-driven matchmaking initiative that uses your preferences to make thoughtful connections.
Call to action: help a friend (or yourself!)
Couldn’t make it? fill out the survey so you’re in the loop for matching and future invites.
Know someone who’s single in NYC? share the survey. a simple forward might be the nudge that leads to a great connection. Survey link (shareable)
What’s next
We’re exploring another singles event (with a few fun twists) based on the great feedback we received. We’ll keep you posted as details come together. As always, our north star is serving the community—creating spaces for friendship, connection, and growth rooted in Christ.
Thank you again to NYC Christian Singles and to every volunteer, partner, and attendee who helped make this night special. Let’s keep showing up—with intention, courage, and faith. 🙏
Hillari Concert Recap

What a finale to an all-around great evening! Hillari and her band put on an electric performance to a 700+ sold out crowd.
In her debut headlining performance in North America, the show was truly a taste of something new yet it carried all the hallmarks of what it takes to succeed in the industry.
Thanks to all of those who attended the Christian Singles Mixer and hoped across the street to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime night with the Christians in Tech family.
We here at CIT are honored to have gotten the opportunity to be a part of the experience and want to pray for Hillari’s continued success. It’s not too often that you get to go to an amazing R&B concert and hear Jesus’ name praised in front of a sold out crowd. Just amazing!

The Tension of Time and Money
What the World Demands vs. What God Desires
Time and money, two of the most valuable resources at our disposal, create one of the greatest tensions. The world tells us they are inextricably linked: trade your time to make your money– give up your money to enjoy your time. That’s the foundation of our economy and society. But as followers of Christ, we’re faced with a deeper question: how are we spending our time, and does our financial pursuit reflect what God is actually calling us to pursue?
How We Spend It
Both time and money are finite resources. You must find a balance between them or the desire for one or the other can consume you. But the way the world and God approaches them could not be more different.
The world is relentless in its demands. It doesn’t politely ask for our attention; it steals it. Some of the smartest minds alive are designing apps, feeds, and algorithms to keep us glued to our phones, doom-scrolling, comparing, buying, consuming. And while we often think we’re in control, our attention is constantly being pulled away, more often than not, against our will. When our attention is under control of the world, our appetite for money or desire for our time becomes unbalanced.
But when we look at Scripture, God’s pattern is strikingly different. God is patient. He waits. He calls. Throughout the Bible, from Abraham to the disciples, we see a God who is always seeking us. - “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) The Lord doesn’t attempt to steal away our attention and let our desires run rampant. He beckons, letting us forge our own path to Him, though each step guided, and allowing us to willingly relinquish our attention over to Him. What a stark contrast to the world's demands.
And yet, how do we typically respond to this gentle invitation?
Sadly, most often it’s only in our moments of suffering, when heartbreak, crisis, or loss strips away the noise, that we finally give Him our full attention. We recognize what’s important. That’s when we find ourselves closest to God, because our attention is undivided. - “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
My Personal Conviction
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 14 and I’ve started several different businesses. People would always assume that I was motivated by money. But the truth is, it was never about the money. What I’ve always valued most was my time.
Yet, if I’m honest, most of my time has gone into work, hustling, building, creating. Like most New Yorkers, I love the hustle. For years I believed that I could just make a lot of money and then, eventually try to align myself with my Christian values and give back. That was my broken ideology.
But about seven years ago, God convicted me: How I spend my time should reflect my values. If I truly valued His Kingdom, like I said I did, then what I spent my time on needed to reflect His Kingdom.
That conviction completely changed me and led me to rethink the way I was building and why. This ultimately led me to start Do Good, the company I’m building now. Service and Kingdom values are placed at the very core of it. We help businesses, communities, and even ministries launch their own nonprofit arms without the high cost, trouble, and liability of maintaining one. It’s what we call NaaS, Nonprofit-as-a-Service.
The vision is simple: every business, every individual, every community can have both profit and purpose, not as a handout, but as a redemptive way of working. When we let God redefine our relationship with time and money, He doesn't just change our hearts, He transforms how we work, create, and serve others.
Living Well, Living Right
So here’s what I’m wrestling with. I live in THE New York City and before, I was in the SF Bay Area, and these are two of the most expensive cities in the US. And let me be honest, I like it, the food, the travel, the culture, you get it.
So what does it mean to follow God while living in a system that runs on the consumption of our time and money? Does doing Kingdom work mean I have to be poor and miserable? Do I have to abandon the city and the culture I love? At least for me personally, I don’t believe so.
The question is whether we can thrive intentionally - enjoying good food and culture while using our resources to serve others. Building wealth while prioritizing kingdom impact, loving our cities while not being owned by them. That’s exactly why Do Good exists. To integrate doing good into the very mechanism of wealth creation. That wealth is then meant to continue to grow the business, doing even greater good.
When we fix our eyes on the Lord, allowing Him to change how we work and what we consume, the transformation goes beyond just us. It changes what we create and whom we impact. And that ripple effect? That's not something we can engineer or manipulate. It comes from surrendering to the One who can.
Attention as Worship
Here’s the bottom line: God doesn’t need our money. He doesn’t even need our time. But He desires our attention. “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22) If we give our eyes to God, He will transform our bodies. The fruit of that transformation is the change we’ll be able to create. This sacrifice, especially in this attention draining age, is one of the greatest acts of worship.
And this is where posture matters. How are we intentionally creating margin to be with God? Not just squeezing in a prayer before bed when we’re exhausted, but giving the first fruits of our time, the best part of our day. “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops.” (Proverbs 3:9)
What if we applied this to our calendars as much as our paychecks? What if we tithed our time—not just the leftovers, but the best of it?
Maybe that looks like 30 minutes in the morning before emails and Slack, or an hour once a week when you’re at your sharpest. Whatever it is, the act of intentionally giving God the first and best of your time creates space where God can realign our priorities, clarify our calling, and redirect our energy toward what actually matters.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
A Challenge for Your Time
Here’s my challenge:
What daily or weekly rhythms create unhurried space for God?
Are you tithing not just your money, but your time and attention?
Is your posture one of attentiveness, ready to respond to God’s nearness?
Because when we tithe our time, when we intentionally give God our best, He shapes us and our work in ways hustling never could. Our time with God produces greater returns than any time traded for money.
My prayer is that as a community of Christians in Tech, we would be people not just known for what we build, but for how we live; attentive to God, surrendered to Him, and willing to let both our time and our money reflect His Kingdom.
