…Can You See It?
Something’s stirring in the culture.
On festival stages, in TikTok feeds, in galleries, in poetry readings, Billboard charts, and in communities worldwide that refuse to keep faith behind stained glass.
For years, commentators have said: “God is absent in today’s culture.” That faith was outdated, churches were shrinking, and Christianity was losing its relevance.
Let me firmly testify, the creator of this universe was never absent but is patient. While some are writing obituaries for faith — “God is Dead”…
A new generation is writing songs, stories, and code that testify otherwise.
As Jesus reminds us:
“My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working” (John 5:17).
Culture isn’t just entertainment. It’s Formative.
It shapes how we imagine what’s possible, how we understand ourselves, and what we believe matters.
mid-15c., "the tilling of land, act of preparing the earth for crops.” from past-participle stem of colere “to tend, guard; to till, cultivate”
Genesis 1:27 tells us we are made in the image of a Creator. That isn’t simply a theological statement;
It’s a CALLING! A calling forth, A calling up…
We are made to create, to shape, to contribute beauty and meaning into the world.
When God moves in culture, He isn’t simply updating playlists or repainting gallery walls.
HE is tilling the land, HE is planting us where HE knows we belong, according to the gifting that He’s planted within us.
And there’s proof everywhere!
Christian music is reaching beyond the church.
Billboard reported that streams of Christian and gospel tracks grew by 15% in 2024. Much of that momentum is fueled by TikTok.
Spiritual curiosity thrives online.
Barna reports that 61% of Gen Z engaged with Christian or spiritual content on social media in the last month.
Faith is shifting forms, not fading.
Pew Research has shown that while weekly church attendance has declined, participation in faith-adjacent gatherings (prayer groups, service projects, concerts, community events, house churches) is growing.
Translation?
Faith isn’t fading into secularity…
Faith is crossing into the secular.
We see this in our own community. At our Christians*inTech events, we’ve seen hundreds of people gather, because there’s a hunger for connection, for community, and for God to be at the center of our work and creativity.
Over the past few months there have been many reminders that this is bigger than us:
Inkwell + Christianity Today hosted a gathering for artists and storytellers, empowering them to center God in their creative work. It wasn’t a “church event.” It was a cultural activation.
The Renaissance Conference in New York City dedicated a day to exploring how God calls creatives to shape culture—rooted in the Genesis story of creation and creativity.
Our partners at Sugary Community continue to give platforms to artists who love Jesus yet move fluidly in mainstream spaces, resisting categories that would box them in.
Even our most recent event, brought together 7 different Jesus-centered communities to help break down barriers and build collaboration.
These aren’t isolated occurrences. They are signals of a shift.
Take Hillari: Born in Norway, raised in the Philippines, and now stepping into the U.S. spotlight, Hillari represents a new kind of artist. Her music blends R&B, soul, and poetry, and it’s getting attention from Billboard, CNN, and Complex Philippines.
She isn’t marketed as a “Christian artist,” yet her life and music testify to her faith.
Her track “Only God”—which wasn’t even chosen by her label as a single—went viral on TikTok, connecting with a generation hungry for authentic faith.
She says it best: “I’m just an artist who happens to love Jesus Christ.”
She represents a new wave of artistry, rooted in faith, cultivated by God but not confined to the world of “Christian Music”. She’s bringing the music to Christ .
And Hillari isn’t alone.
Our friend Raven Rodriguez, founder of Disciple Studio, is reimagining what worship can sound like.
She is creating Christian Club Music.
Some might scoff. But why should nightclubs not also echo with truth and beauty?
When Jesus gave the Great Commission, He didn’t say “wait for people to come to you.” He said GO.
God is breaking down the barriers of “sacred” vs. “secular.”
As Paul wrote in Colossians 3:17:
“Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
That means creativity is worship. A song. A line of code. A painting. A pitch deck. When rooted in Christ, all of it reflects Him.
Culture is not something to fear. It’s something to Cultivate.
Where is God inviting you to create, not just consume?
How are you showing up in your craft—as an engineer, designer, founder, poet, or friend—as a reflection of Christ?
These aren’t rhetorical questions. They are invitations. Because culture will be shaped by someone. The question is whether it will be shaped by people who know the Cultivator of creation.
Because God isn’t absent. He’s active. He’s moving. He’s shaping culture. And He’s inviting us to do the same.
See you at the intersection of faith, tech, and culture,

Christians in Tech News

Check out this article from The Times:
“Why the tech gods of Silicon Valley have turned to Christianity” - LOUISA CLARENCE-SMITH
The article explores a fascinating cultural shift happening right now in Silicon Valley. Tech leaders and workers are increasingly turning to Christianity, largely driven by existential questions raised by AI development.
Churches in San Francisco are seeing growing congregations as tech workers grapple with questions like "What does it mean to be human if we can be gods?"
New organizations have emerged, like the Bay Area Center for Faith, Work & Tech (2,000+ members) and Acts 17 Collective, specifically connecting Christian tech workers
The capabilities being developed in AI are prompting deep theological reflection about human nature, ethics, and power
Notably, Peter Thiel is hosting a sold-out lecture series on the biblical Antichrist. This is a clear sign of Christianity’s influence on thought leaders as well as its growing attention in the industry as a whole.
Christianity isn't just surviving in tech culture - it's actually GROWING and becoming more influential. Faith is being viewed as relevant, essential in addressing the most cutting-edge technological challenges.
